Get ‘Em While They’re Hot: 3 Summer Foodie Specials

The kids may be on their way back to school, but summer is still in full swing here in the North Central Corridor. (And, let’s face it, will be for quite some time!) Lucky for us, restaurants all around the neighborhood are toasting to the season with fresh flavors, new menu additions and some pretty sweet digs.

New Sorbets at Splurge

Located next to Luci’s at The Orchard, Splurge is one of our favorite spots for gelato and ice cream. To celebrate the season, they’ve just released a lineup of fresh sorbet flavors perfect for our blazing desert temperatures: Sweet prickly pear mixed with lime juice and fresh mango, a deliciously tart and sweet concoction. (Bonus: Both are dairy free!)

An Even Happier Hour at True Food Kitchen

Now through Labor Day, True Food Kitchen is boosting its happy hour menu with additions of its most popular dishes like the Tuscan kale salad, margherita pizza, and herb hummus with farmer’s market crudite. There’s even a trio option where you can select three items from the happy hour menu for just $20. Oh, and did we mention the deals on skinny margaritas?

LON’s Goes Underground

If you’ve never had a meal in the wine cellar at LON’s at The Hermosa Inn, now’s your chance! Open for parties of two through Sept. 9, dinner in the restaurant’s private subterranean dining room is a special $65 tasting menu prepared by Executive Chef Jeremy Pacheco and team with wine pairing options for an additional $35 per person. Kept at 57 degrees, the cellar is a cool reprieve.
