We’re here to help you get the biggest bang for your home, but there are some things you can do before we list your home to make sure it is fully ready to be put on the market.
Start From the Outside
The best place to start is on the outside! The interior of your home could be straight out of a magazine, but if the outside isn’t kept up, buyers may never walk in the door. Ensure that the landscape is kept up, paint has been applied and bushes and grass have been watered! In short, if its what you want to see when shopping for a new home, then make it happen!
Remove Clutter & Personal Photos
Potential buyers want to be able to picture themselves in the home, not literally picture you in the home. Rent a storage unit to store knick-knacks, extra furniture, photos and more. No, you don’t have to remove EVERY photo of yourself, but most of them. Decluttering the home will open the space and allow the buyers to see what they are working with!
Marie Kondo Time
Let’s get organized! Messy closets and drawers lead a buyer to think that there is not enough storage space within the home. When in fact, it may be that some things need to take a trip to Goodwill. Leave some extra space in each closet so that buyers can see how much space there is in the home.
It’s Show Time
Finally – we have the home up for sale! Now is the time for showings. Before showings, ensure the home is spotless. Dust the blinds and ceiling fans, clean the countertops and vacuum before doors open. As guests arrive, ensure all bad smells are gone! Spray air neutralizer, put out some fresh flowers and bake some cookies! Sweet, comforting smells is the goal!
