Looking to Buy or Sell But Not Sure What Questions to Ask? Keep Reading …
At The Caniglia Group, we wholeheartedly believe that a successful home buying or selling process has everything to do with the partnership between the real estate agent and the client. That means being on the same page, staying communicative, and coming prepared for whatever the journey may have in store! While every situation varies and nothing is predictable, a more enjoyable time begins with asking all the questions that you can.
In our industry, there is no such thing as a wrong or “silly” question. Quite the opposite, because the more everyone knows, the easier things will go throughout the entire process! While there are always questions from the real estate agent for the client, what about the other way around? What questions should you be asking your current or potential real estate agent? We sat down with our very own real estate agent, Samantha Chiles, to help you find answers to your most common questions. Here are just some of the things you should be asking yourself, as well as your real estate agent:
Question #1: “What do you know about this area and market that we are looking to buy in?”
It should seem like a no-brainer that your real estate agent should have some knowledge about the market you are interested in. But, more often than not, realtors have areas of expertise in which they focus on! With the Valley as vast as it is (and always expanding), it’s important to check and make sure that the agent you are planning on partnering with actually has the insight you need to be as informed as possible.
Question #2: “Do they have the experience and skill set to assist me in submitting strong offers?”
Remember, just because an agent hasn’t been in the industry for 100 years, it doesn’t mean that they aren’t skilled enough or lack the ability to crush your offers. That’s why you also ask:
Question #3: “What do you plan on doing to help me be successful in getting my offer accepted?”
This is key in solidifying an understanding between you both about budgetary expectations and what you envision for a feasible offer.
Question #4: “Do our personalities vibe and mesh well? Do we get along cohesively?”
While you may not ask this one directly to your agent, this is a must-ask question of yourself and anyone else who may be involved, such as a partner! However, ensuring that you ask the questions above will hopefully help you get a “yes” to this one! At the end of the day, when trying to sell or buy a home, you want someone whom you trust and feel comfortable allowing to guide you through this huge commitment and decision. It’s not every day that you go through this process – and it should be a happy memory to reflect on once you’ve found the home of your dreams. That’s where we come in!
